Convenience Stores on alert as Cookie Monster rampage continues

The Cookie Monster has struck again in Sydney’s inner west, robbing a convenience store in Newtown overnight.

The Monster entered the store in King St around 2am and began throwing packets of cookies into a green garbage bag. When challenged by a staff member, the Monster produced a knife and threatened to attack.

The Monster is described as blue, with bulging eyes and exhibiting obsessive compulsive behaviour, particularly in relation to snack foods. The Monster usually strikes on Friday and Saturday nights, possibly after extended consumption of alcohol or cannabis.

The Cookie Monster should not be approached, but any sightings should be referred to Newtown Police.

In other news, a labrador was arrested on Tuesday night after allegedly breaking into a Petersham primary school and playing a piano in the school hall.  Police were called to the school at 3am after residents reported hearing music emanating from the grounds.

“This dog apparently has an obsession with music and was unable to resist the temptation of  entering the premises and using the piano,” said a police spokesman, “Unfortunately for locals,  his Bach was worse than his bite.”
