A 45 year old man was arrested by Waverley
Police yesterday after officers spotted the man using a laptop computer and
failing to participate in a conversation at a family picnic on
“This individual was observed to be not paying attention to the conversation and on at least one occasion failed to laugh at a joke or humorous comment which had generated merriment amongst the rest of his family,” said a spokesman, “Such selfish conduct has a tendency to detract from the general enjoyment of the occasion and accordingly our officers had no choice but the remove the man from the picnic.”
Premier Morris Iemma praised the police for their quick action and said the arrest was further evidence of the government’s commitment to eliminating anti-social behaviour from the community.
